Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff) is a fictional superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared in the comic book X-Men #4 (March 1964) and was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The character has since starred in two self-titled limited series, and has historically been depicted as a regular team member in superhero title The Avengers.

Quicksilver has the superhuman ability to move at great speeds. In most depictions, he is a mutant, a human born with innate superhuman powers. In comic book stories beginning in 2015, he is the product of genetic experimentation by the High Evolutionary.[1] Quicksilver most commonly appears in fiction associated with the X-Men, having been introduced as an adversary for the superhero team. In later stories, he became a superhero himself. He is the twin brother of the Scarlet Witch and, in most depictions, the son of Magneto and the half-brother of Polaris.

Debuting in the Silver Age of comic books, Quicksilver has featured in several decades of Marvel continuity, starring in the self-titled series Quicksilver and as a regular team member in superhero title the Avengers. The character has also appeared in a range of movie, television, and video game adaptations. Two separate live-action versions of the character have been adapted by two different film studios: Aaron Taylor-Johnson portrays the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, appearing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), while Evan Peters portrays Quicksilver in the 20th Century Fox films X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and X-Men: Apocalypse(2016). He had a cameo in Deadpool 2 (2018) and will return in the upcoming film Dark Phoenix.

Apple's $539 Million in Damages Is a ‘Big Win’ Over Samsung

Apple Inc. won $539 million from Samsung Electronics Co. in the final throes of the companies’ U.S. court struggle over smartphone technology, seven years after the start of a global patent battle.

Jurors in federal court in San Jose, California, decided only on damages Thursday. It was already established that the South Korean company infringed three of Apple’s design patents -- covering the rounded corners of its phones, the rim that surrounds the front face, and the grid of icons that users view -- and two utility patents, which protect the way something works and is used.

Yes, You Should Write Controller Tests!

It really surprises me that there are people arguing that writing controller tests doesn’t make sense. Probably the most common argument is that actions are covered in acceptence tests along with checking if views are properly rendered. Right? Right…well that’s just wrong! Are you trying to say that your slow acceptance tests are covering every possible controller action scenario? Are you trying to say that, for instance, every redirect that should take place is tested within an acceptance test? Are you also checking every invalid request in acceptance tests? Are you telling me that your acceptance test suite takes 27 hours and 13 minutes to finish because you fully test your controllers there?! Oh I’m sure that your acceptance test suite runs faster and you probably cover only ‘the happy scenarios’ there…which basically means you miss A LOT of test coverage.

Amazing!!!

When I first received this suit, it was defected, with one of the straps twisted. I immediately emailed staff and they got back to me within 24 hours with specific instructions on how I can exchange the suit. The staff member I spoke to even mentioned she set one to the side, just for me. I couldn't be more pleased!!
